He Ain’t No Johnny Cochrane That’s For Sure

Posted by Mr. Shitz

O.J. Simpson is on trial in Las Vegas, facing life in prison if he is convicted, and the best his lawyer’s (Gabriel Grasso) can come up with to discredit one of O.J.’s victims is to accuse him (Bruce Fromberg) of wanting to profit from the story buy selling it to Inside Edition. Are you f**king kidding me Grasso?

How does determining whether Formong wanted to cash in on his story by selling it to a TV tabloid show change the fact that O.J. and four of his armed henchmen held two men hostage in a hotel room until O.J. got what he wanted, memorabilia he gave Fromberg to hide for him so that he could avoid having the items seized by murder victim Ronald Goldman’s family, who won a $32 million civil suit against O.J.

I don’t know anything about this Grasso character or if he is even a capable lawyer, but if I was O.J I would be looking for another to represent him, and I’d be doing it fast.

This case isn’t about who was trying to profit from what, this case is about illegal confinement (kidnapping), assault with a deadly weapon and coercion and whether or not O.J. knew that his four henchmen were carrying guns when they entered Fromberg’s hotel room where the entire episode was captured on audio.

Whether Fromberg is a credible witness or not, the fact remains that there the entire shakedown by O.J was captured on tape, and that is what is going to convict O.J. on at least some of the 12 charges he is defending himself against. Who the f**k cares on that jury whether or not Fromberg wanted to profit from his story or the memorabilia. It has nothing to do with the charges O.J. is facing. It makes no sense to me why Grasso would even bother to discredit Fromberg as a witness/victim using the fact that Fromberg was going to sell his story to Inside Edition.

What Fromberg says on the tape:

“It’s not f**king over. I’ll have Inside Edition down here for us tomorrow. I told them I want big money.”

I don’t blame Fromberg because Inside Edition would have paid him more money than he would have gotten for selling what little of O.J.’s memorabilia he had on EBay. Grasso you’re idiot for even bringing that up.’ The fact that Fromberg said that doesn’t change the fact that crimes were convicted in the hotel room, and that O.J. and his henchmen committed those crimes that were captured on the same tape that Fromberg made his “Inside Edition” comments.

“Nobody puts a f**king gun in my face. I stood up for this motherf**ker when he was in jail. I stood up for him when he was on trial. I set up his offshore bank accounts.”

Wow! That is damaging stuff, and like it or not the jury will know that Fromberg is referring to the Nicole Brown-Ron Goldman murders, O.J.’s being tried for those murders, and of course the $32 million civil suit he lost to the Goldman family. Damaging evidence indeed, but at the end of the day this is about assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping more than anything else, and the more often the jury here’s the audio, the easier it will be to find O.J. guilty.

Tuesday was an explosive day in the courtroom, so explosive that even the judge lost it a little. She admonished District Attorney David Roger for continually referring to the incident as “the robbery” after O.J.’s defence team objected on the grounds the prosecutor was drawing legal conclusion.

The way I see it, whether or not O.J. was taking back his shit or not, he used goons and guns, and he illegally confined the two memorabilia dealers. Maybe the District Attorney should refer to the incident as “the crime” instead of “the incident” as the judge directed the DA to call it.

The judge also yelled at O.J’s lawyers to sit down and then she went on to say, “Listen folks, the last thing you want to me to do as a judge is to start losing my temper in front of the fine gentlemen and ladies of the jury and having to deal with all of you. You’ve been warned folks.”

By the sounds of it, this trial is turning into quite the circus, and that O.J.’s defence might be a little frustrated, which in the end won’t bode well for O.J. It’s too bad Johnny Cochrane isn’t alive, huh O.J.?

NFL: Week 2

The Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles game on Monday night was by far the best game I have seen in the first two weeks of the 2008-09 NFL season so far. I learned quite a bit from that game, like the fact that Cowboy QB Tony Romo and receiver Terrell Owens are going to get the job done for Dallas this season as far as making it to the playoffs go, and that the Eagles aren’t going to get very far with boneheads like DeSean Johnson on the team and coach who looks like one of the Three Stooges on the sidelines. Philadelphia’s head coach may have had a great career as an assistant coach, but he ain’t head coaching material, and if the Eagles found themselves struggling over the next few weekends ahead, the coach will be history.

He really looked lost on the sidelines in Monday night’s loss; it was if he wasn’t even in the game.

Things Aren’t Looking Too Good For O.J. In Vegas So Far, Jury Hears Compelling Evidence

Posted by Mr. Shitz

The last time O.J. Simpson was on trial for a violent crime, his murder trial was dubbed “The Crime of the Century” and it ended with his acquittal for the murder of his ex-wife and her male companion who were stabbed to death not more than thirty or fourty feet from where his children lay sleeping. There was quite a cast of characters in that trial, some of whom were able to cash in on the notoriety, and at the end of the day many felt that justice wasn’t served, that the “Juice” got away with committing a brutal double homicide. In a civil suit that followed the trial he was ordered to pay Ronald Goldman’s family $32 million in damages, an amount to that to this day remains unpaid, if only because Simpson has been able to hide his assets either in an offshore account, or with friends.

Fourteen years after Simpson was found not guilty of the murders of Nicole Brown and Goldman, and 11 years after he was ordered to compensate the Goldman family for their loss, Simpson now finds himself on trial for robbery and kidnapping after he attempted to recover memorabilia and other heirlooms he entrusted to a friend so as to avoid having them seized by the Goldman family. If convicted, Simpson could receive a life sentence for the crimes he is accused of, a crime that wouldn’t have occurred if Simpson hadn’t tried to hide his assets from the Goldman family in the first place.

This week Simpson went on trial in Las Vegas to answer to 12 charges in relation to his gun-point attempt to recover the memorabilia he tried to hide from the Goldmans, and like his murder trial there is some very colourful characters, some of whom are more than willing to turn on Simpson thanks to plea bargain agreements they were able to reach with Nevada prosecutors.

Based on the evidence the jury has heard so far it isn’t looking too good for Simpson, and after two days of testimony in which audiotapes of the armed robbery in a room at the Palace Station Hotel-Casino were played, Simpson’s claim that he didn’t know that his partners-in-crime were armed when they entered the hotel on September 2007 isn’t looking too believable.

Based on the evidence so far, the jury has heard from one of his victims that Simpson told his four goons while they were waving their guns around not to let anybody leave the hotel room.

Simpson was not armed however, and was merely barking out orders to his henchmen, three of whom are now expected to testify against Simpson for the prosecution thanks to the aforementioned plea deals, and one who refused to accept a plea deal after he was arrested.

Could this be the end for Simpson’s life of crime? Could the man who most of the world thinks got away with committing murder finally be put behind bars where he belongs?

DSOS thinks so, and if the evidence the jury has heard so far is as compelling to them as it is to DSOS thus far, you can bet that when this trial comes to an end, the only striped suit he’ll be wearing is a black and white one with his inmate number on the back.

C’est Domage Mats Sundin

Either the Montreal Canadiens have come to their senses, or Mats Sundin has refused to sign on the dotted line, but whatever the circumstances for the Canadiens not showing any more interest in the Swede (who in my opinion has been hit with way too many pucks in the head if the thinks he can be bring something to the rink) they have done the right thing by taking a pass on the old Swedish jalopy.

I’ve said it in DSOS before and I’ll repeat it for the last time, Sundin is finished in the NHL whether he wants to believe it or not and whether he retires or not, and the best thing for Sundin to do if he still wants to get paid for chasing a biscuit around the rink is to pack his bags and head over to Russia, that is if anybody in the KHL is interested in him, which I doubt. If there was a team in the KHL who was interested in Sundin, they would have expressed some interest by now and Sundin wouldn’t have been entertaining any thoughts of joining the Habitants a month before the start of the 2008-09 NHL season.

Does Mats Sundin need to be hit over the head with a hockey stick for him to come to the realization that NHL teams are not interested in his services on his terms?

Sundin isn’t in a position to be dictating the terms of an NHL contract anymore and if he wants to continue playing in the NHL, he is going to have to accept the fact that he has to lower his expectations, and come to grips with the fact that he ain’t worth the big bucks anymore and that a one-year deal is the best he can get with any team.

DSOS isn’t aware if the Tampa Bay Lightening is still interested in acquiring Sundin’s services, though why they would want them to begin with is totally beyond me given that with the talent they already have, throwing Sundin into the mix would be more of a detriment to the chemistry of the team. Tampa Bay would be better off spending their money on better goaltending and defense then on a forward like the 37-year-old Sundin who before the season even starts is sidelined for a couple of months yet.

Any NHL team that acquires Sundin’s service is wasting good money on somebody who isn’t going to amount to much more than what he has become, an injury prone skater who is one bone jarring injury away from missing the remainder of a the 2008-09 season once he is back on the ice for whatever team is stupid enough to sign him.

In Sundin’s stead, Bob Gainey has opted for 37-year-old Czech Robert Lang who is by far a fitter skater than Mats Sundin. Rumour is the Habs signed for $4 million big ones. The Canadiens have also brought defenseman Patrice Brisebois into the fold, signing him to a one-year deal.

Canes Lock Up Staal

The Carolina Hurricanes are forking out big bucks to keep franchise player Eric Staal for the next seven years, getting him to sign a contract extension worth $8.25 million a season starting in 2009.

At 23 years of age, Staal who is a two-time All-Star and All Star game MVP will still have a lot of game in him when the deal expires in 2015 and I suspect seven years from now he is going to be worth a lot more than what he signed for this past Thursday.

I tell ya what NHL fans, if there is anybody who is capable of breaking  a  “Wayne Gretzky” NHL record, Staal is the player to do that, and I expect him to do just that before his NHL career is over.

Gretzky Right About KHL, Wrong About NHL Franchise in Steeltown

Speaking of the “Great One” according to him, he doesn’t think the new Russian hockey league poses a threat to the NHL and I happen to agree with him.

As far as the KHL goes, I think the league will be good for the NHL, if only because it will become a dumping ground for some of the garbage that is currently littering the ice at NHL arenas.

As for an NHL team working in Hamilton, I have to disagree with Gretzky.

If an NHL team franchise has to rely on out-of-towners to fill arena seats, then the financial viability of a franchise in Hamilton is doomed. Obviously, Gretzky has more money than brains.

Dallas Star Starring in Romantic Comedy

I suspect Sean Avery’s days in the  NHL might soon come to an end if it turns out that he is a better actor than he is a  hockey player, which wouldn’t take much of an effort given that Avery isn’t known for his hockey skill to begin with.

Rumour has it that the Dallas Star, who recently had his hopes of becoming a celebrity stylist dashed, is about to star in a movie being co-produced by his close friend Lauryn Flynn. The New Line Cinema production is inspired by Avery’s adventures as a Vogue intern.

The Two Biggest Busts in Vancouver Canucks History Should Be Dumped

Wrapping things up, how about those Sedin twins, haven’t they been a bust since the Vancouver Canucks drafted them?

Daniel and Henrik are entering this season knowing full well that after this NHL campaign is over they will be unrestricted free-agents if the Canucks cannot get a deal done to retain their services before next summer, though why the Canucks would want to retain their services given that the Sedins have not lived up to the expectations the team and fans alike had for them when they joined the Canucks way back when.

The Sedins have had plenty of time to prove themselves and they haven’t, and rumour has it that if the Canucks are stupid enough to re-sign the twins, the cost will be $6.5 million per player per season.

The best thing for new general manager Mike Gillis to do is to move the Sedins while he can still get something for them. Canuck fans should be starting a “Dump the Sedins” campaign now, because unrestricted free agency or not, the Sedins aren’t any more capable of stepping up their game this season as they were last season, the season before that and the season before that.

The bottom-line is that the Sedins have been a bust in Vancouver since the moment they put on a Canuck’s jersey and a Canuck fan doesn’t have to be a Don Cherry or Howie Meeker to figure that out.

Canadiens acquire Lang; Sundin no longer in plans

Jeff Garcia is a Bum-’Once a Bum Always a Bum’

Posted by Mr. Shitz

When benched Tampa Bay Buccaneer QB Jeff Garcia played for the Calgary Stampeders he was a whiner, and his talent never got him anywhere in the Canadian Football League. The guy was a lot of talk and no walk, and he was never able to deliver the goods like he said he could, but that didn’t stop him from pursuing a career in the NFL, a league that all but rejected him in the infancy of his pro football career.

That’s how Garcia ended up in the CFL backing up Doug Flutie, another QB who couldn’t cut in the NFL in the infancy of his pro football career either, but at least Flutie delivered the goods including a couple of CFL championships if my memory serves me well. I don’t feel like googling Flutie’s name to find out so DSOS readers will have to trust that I know what I’m talking about, though it is quite possible Flutie could have three CFL championship rings, perhaps even more.

After whining and carrying on long enough, the San Francisco 49ers finally gave him a chance, if only because they needed somebody to take over the quarterbacking duties from Steve Young, and they needed somebody fast.

Like in Calgary, Garcia didn’t amount to much in San Francisco either, but that didn’t stop him from pretending to be something that he isn’t and never was as far as I’m concerned, a quality quarterback. He has been a total bust in the NFL, and has done nothing spectacular. Sure, he has shown that he has the stamina to compete in the NFL, but as every die-hard and knowledgeable NFL fan knows, he has done shit in the NFL. I definitely don’t think he has had a NFL Hall of Fame career, that’s for sure.

This year he is playing for my favourite team, the Buccaneers, where he will likely “ride the pine” for the rest of this NFL season, unless the Bucs are desperate and need him to start. He lost his starting job to Brian Griese, who as far as I’m concerned isn’t much better, but better nevertheless.

Garcia isn’t happy about being benched, and as usual, he still thinks he has what it takes to play in the NFL. He doesn’t and he should start considering retirement now as I think this is his last NFL stop. An NFL team would have to be pretty desperate to show interest in Garcia in what is the twilight of  his career now, and Tampa isn’t going to get to many offers, if any, for Garcia’s services.

Jeff Garcia needs to suck it up, hang up his boots, and exit football gracefully and with dignity. Somehow, I don’t think that is going to happen though. I picture him throwing a temper tantrum (hissy fit) and stomping out of football like the great big crybaby I think he is

Bucs quarterback Garcia thinks benching is undeserved

NFL

New England Patriots have been dealt a serious blow in their challenge to make it to the Super Bowl thanks to a season ending injury to QB Tom Brady.  So what are they going to do now?

If it was left to me, and despite what I think about Daunte Culpepper, I think the Pats should try to get his name on the dotted line and fit him to their roster as quickly as possible. I’m sure he can be signed at a bargain basement price chocked full of performance incentives.

The Pats loss is creates a lot of winners, one of which could be Culpepper, who has accused NFL teams of not giving him a chance to resurrect his career.

Formula One

One minute he is the winner of the Belgian Grand Prix, the next he’s not. Poor Lewis Hamilton, after winning the Belgian Grand Prix to increase his F1 points lead over Felipe Massa, he has been stripped of the points he won.

Hamilton lost his points for cutting a vital corner, which according FIA gave him an advantage over the other drivers.

His McLaren racing team is crying foul, but rules are rules, and despite allegations of collusion against racing officials (who McLaren feels is merely trying to create a closer championship race), the McLaren team doesn’t have much of legal leg to stand on, though they are right that a drive through penalty should have been applied on the track.

Because of the 25-point penalty, Lewis was relegated to third place and hangs onto a slim 2-point lead over Massa with five races to go.

NHL

Rumour has it that Mats Sundin might be headed to the Montreal Canadians, and I for one don’t understand why the Canadiens would be interested in him. Why tinker with the mechanics of a team that did well last year and are likely to improve on last season’s effort this season? It doesn’t make sense to bring a player who for the past couple of seasons has been prone to injury, and incurred injury at a time when a team needs him the most.

The Canadiens are foolish for thinking that Sundin is going to bring any more to the team than his aging and battered body (years of playing for the Leafs will do that to a player).

Sundin should have left the NHL for good on August 1 like he said he would if he couldn’t get a deal done with another NHL by Aug. 1.

Theoren Fleury might be lacing up the skates again with Alberta AAA champs the Bentley Generals. It seems Theo wants an Allan Cup championship to add to his Stanley Cup championship, and the Generals are interested in seeing what he can bring to the team.

In 2005, he dreamt about winning an Allan Cup championship and almost did, but the Horse Lake Thunder was eliminated in the semi-final. I wish him luck, but if I were Fleury, I’d seriously consider pursuing a championship he has a better chance of winning, Alberta’s Beer Drinking champion.

Daunte Culpepper Ends His NFL Football Career-Claims He Wasn’t Given A Chance

Posted by Mr. Shitz

When the Minnesota Vikings drafted Daunte Culpepper 11th overall in the 1999 NFL Draft they had high expectations for the University of Central Florida quarterback, and rightfully so if his college football statistics and awards are anything to go by. Since he first walked onto the college football field in 1995, each season thereafter was better than the previous season. In other words, year after year he got better, and for his efforts he was named the nation’s top quarterback (Sammy Baugh Trophy) and the “The Sports Network” named him to the All-American First Team.

While playing college football he broke almost all of the teams quarterback records, thirty to be exact, and broke Steve Young’s (San Francisco 49ers) NCAA single season pass completion record of 71.3 per cent with his own 73.6 per cent pass completion record. He became only the third quarterback in NCAA history to pass for 10,000 yards and rush for 1000 more in his college career.

He finished his college football career ranked sixth on the NCAA’s all-time total offense list for all divisions with 12,459 yards and completed 108 touchdowns during his four college football seasons.

Not to shabby for somebody who was born to a mother in prison, and wasn’t given much of chance in life. Thankfully, the late Emma Culpepper, who raised 15 children including Culpepper, adopted him and gave him a shot a making something of his life. Good on her.

Because of Culpepper’s athletic ability, he drew a lot of attention from both baseball and football scouts. While I am not familiar with his baseball skills, the New York Yankees expressed interest in him in 1999, but Culpepper chose an NFL career instead.

One has to wonder if maybe a professional baseball career might have lasted longer than his football career. I think it would have, and who knows, maybe he still has enough baseball in him to make a go of pro baseball career now that his football career is over.

In 2000, Culpepper was named the Viking’s starting quarterback, and he won his first seven games of the season. The Vikings finished with an 11-5 record and went on to play in the NFC championship game where they were slaughtered by last year’s Super Bowl Champs (New York Giants) 41-0. He had a great first season as starting quarterback and for his efforts, he was named to the Pro Bowl.

NFLShop.com

Sports pundits claim that he struggled for the next two years, but a quarterback is only as good as the team in front of him, and I have to disagree with those that claim he struggled during the 2001 and 2002 seasons. While he didn’t have the best seasons among quarterbacks, he still played pretty damn good.

In 2003, he led the Vikings to a 9-7 record and they missed the playoffs. Culpepper still had a good season though. passing for 3,479 yards, 25 touchdowns and only 11 interceptions. He earned his second trip to the Pro Bowl.

2004 was his best season. He threw for a league leading 4,717 yards, set a Viking record with 39 touchdowns, and was intercepted only 11 times. Despite their 8-8 record, the Vikings made it to the playoffs for the second time with Culpepper at the helm. He also broke Dan Marino’s (Miami Dolphins) NFL record for combined passing and rushing yards. The numbers for that record breaking feat 5123 yards. He was named to his third Pro Bowl.

After 2004, his career began to fall apart.

2005 would be his last season with the Vikings and the beginning of the end of his football career. It was a heartbreaking season for Culpepper who had very few good games (team only won 2 of their first seven games of the season with Culpepper in the line-up) and struggled through injuries, one of which is the reason his NFL career is over today. On October 30 in a 38-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers, he was replaced by Brad Johnson after damaging 3 of the 4 major ligaments in his knee. Johnson would go on to lead the Vikings to six straight wins.

In December of that same year, Culpepper and three other Vikings were charged with indecent conduct, disorderly conduct, and lewd or lascivious conduct in a boat cruise scandal. He was facing 90 days in jail, but the charges were dropped against Culpepper due to lack of evidence against him.

In early 2006, Culpepper demanded to be traded or released, if only because of the re-emergence of Brad Johnson who before Culpepper’s injury, was destined to be a second string quarterback.
NFLShop.com Memorabilia

Culpepper finished his career as a starter for the Vikings with a 48.1 winning percentage (37 wins against 40 losses). He was traded to the Miami Dolphins for a second round draft pick.

Nothing went well for Culpepper in Miami. He lost his first two regular season games in which Miami fans booed him relentlessly, calling for back-up Joey Harrington to replace him before the Dolphins won against the Tennessee Titans who had the second worst defense in the league. The next week was a different story, and the Dolphins lost to the worst ranked defensive team in the league, the Houston Texans. From that moment on Culpepper’s days were numbered in Miami. He wouldn’t play another regular season game for the Dolphins, and some claim that it was attitude on the team and not his injuries, that was his demise.

On June 7th 2007, Culpepper acting as his own agent demanded to be released from his Dolphin contract. On June 8, one day after demanding that he be released from his contract, Culpepper was on the practice field for the Dolphin’s mini-camp for reasons only he knows. He left that practice field with a member of the team’s security staff.

With few teams interested in Culpepper’s services, he was released from his contract on July 17. He would later sign with the Oakland Raiders, but he didn’t amount to too much there and he quickly became a distraction the Raiders could ill afford to have. After only playing six games, he challenged teammate cornerback Stanford Routt, a college sprinter, to a foot race during practice and injured his hamstring. He sat out the rest of the 2007 season.

This year, and during Brett Favre’s “whine and cheese(head) party”, there were reports that the Green Bay Packers were interested in Culpepper’s services and that he turned down Green Bay’s one-year, one-million dollar offer, claiming that the deal wasn’t good for either side. Sorry Daunte, but DSOS doesn’t think you were in a position to make that call.

After the Packer deal fell through, there have been “reports” that the Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Kansas City Chiefs had expressed interest in Culpepper, but none of that interest resulted in any offers and Culpepper soon found himself approaching Packers, the very team whose offer he recently rejected because he thought the one million dollar offer they made to him wasn’t good for either side. According to reports, if the Green Bay was still on the table or if they were still interested in him, he would accept a back-up quarterback role.

As of today, Culpepper is retired from the NFL. According to Culpepper, he doesn’t think he was given a fair chance by NFL teams to prove himself, but we all know that the bottom line is that nobody wanted him, that aside from his knee problems, and the fact that he is injury prone and has a bad attitude, he is no longer a good investment.

I wish him well in his future endeavours (I see him in the broadcast booth), and I hope he has invested some of the fortune he was paid to play football wisely, that he has squandered it. Time will tell I suppose.

Secondhand Smoke Has Killed, But So Did The Introduction Of UK’s No Smoking Law

Posted by Mr. Shitz

It is a nasty habit I have had for the past 30 years, with a few months here and there of trying to quit, and I have always known that smoking could kill me and that my second-hand smoke could kill others. However, I am considerate of others when they ask me to not light up, and I respect the by-laws that prevent me from lighting up in public places, like bars and restaurants for example.

More importantly, if somebody asked me to put out my cigarette I would, but it would be reluctantly. I would never resort to violence to protect my right to smoke. It is stupid and not worth it.

In the UK last year former British heavyweight boxing champion and Commonwealth Games bronze medalist James Oyebola approached four men in a nightclub to ask them to put their cigarettes out in a non-smoking venue, and for his efforts on behalf of the owner (a friend who I think asked him for a favour-many patrons also assumed he was a bouncer), he was shot in the next and leg by one man who I am going to assume was over-served.

We all know the effects too much alcohol can have on rationale and common sense, and when a group of rowdy young men are drinking together, the potential for violence increases three-fold, at the very least.

While there are four men are on trial for his murder, I believe that the owner of the nightclub should also be held accountable for the death of Oyebola, who was taken off life-support four days after the shooting occurred.
Champs Sports

Many people might disagree with me on that, but at the end of the day, duty-of-care for the patrons and employees comes into play for any owner of a licensed establishment, as it should be.

In this particular case, I firmly believe that the owner of the establishment asked the imposing Oyebola to deal with the four men knowing that there was going to be some sort of resistance from the four men and other patrons because of the new no smoking by-laws. Having worked in the bar business for a number of years I can tell you that when you expect things to be rough, you send in the biggest boys to straigten things out, unfortunately for Oyebola it appears that he didn’t have much in the way of back-up. Where were the other “bouncers “? I would have never sent in one person to deal with four rowdy young men, and if need be, I would have been in there like a dirty shirt.

Of course we’ll never know the truth (but that isn’t going to stop me from assuming) because dead men can’t talk, and you can bet the owner isn’t going to implicate himself out of fear of a lawsuit against him.

I could be wrong, but the fact that he was asking other patrons to butt out leads me to believe that the owner asked or directed Oyebola to help him enforce the new no smoking law that had been enacted three weeks before Oyebola was shot, and that the nightclub was understaffed to handle the situation.

The no smoking law came into effect on July 1, 2007 and Oyebola was shot on July 23.

O.J. Simpson Assaulted By Daughter

Posted by Mr. Shitz

When it comes to O.J. Simpson, the U.S. would be a safer place without him, and while the day might come that his mouth and his criminal ways get him killed, the best anybody can hope for until that day arrives is that he is taken off the streets of America and put behind bars. Depending on what happens in his Las Vegas trial, the day he is taken off the streets for good might not be far off. In the mean time, his family has to tolerate his bullshit, but thankfully, for them there are people like his oldest daughter Arnelle willing to take him down a peg or two whenever they feel he is out of line.

Arnelle, who is the daughter of O.J.’s high school sweetheart, gave O.J. a little taste of what he might expect in prison should the judge presiding over his case in Las Vegas decide to put him behind bars,

It seems O.J. made the mistake of sticking up for his gold-digging douche bag of girlfriend Christie Prody after Arnelle called Prody on her drinking problem, and when he did that, he paid the price.

In one shove from his daughter O.J suffered a cut to the back of his head and a cut lip. Arnelle is lucky he didn’t reach for a gun or a knife, and even luckier that a drunken Prody didn’t rise to her sugar daddy’s defence.

After things had settled down, Arnelle called the police on herself and they took a statement before asking her to leave her father’s house. The likelihood of criminal charges being laid against Arnelle are slim and none , but given the publicity that follows O.J. around these days, their might be an assistant district attorney or two who might see an opportunity to cash in by laying charges if only to get 15 minutes of fame.

Things you might not know about O.J. and his douche bag girlfriend Christie:

  • Christie Prody has accused OJ Simpson of entering her home illegally, stealing pages from her address book and erasing her voice mails.
  • Police have been called to break up loud fights between the couple five times in the past seven years.
  • Prody was ejected from a hotel near Miami International Airport in May 2000 for kicking and slapping Simpson.
  • She shoved him again on July 4, 2005, and then slapped one of his friends, according to various police reports.
  • Now-deceased sex tape broker David Hans Schmidt allegedly tried to shop a sex tape of OJ Simpson, Christie Prody and model Patty Kuprys, a video Simpson denied existed and threatened legal action over.
  • Christie Prody caused a rift between Simpson and his daughter Sydney, 22, in January 2003. Police found Sydney, then 17, alone in her bedroom. She told them she and O.J. were fighting because she did not like Prody.
  • Sydney’s brother Justin, then 14, told investigators he got along fine with Prody … after the local Department of Children & Families received 13 anonymous calls from Miami accusing Simpson of child abuse in 2003.
  • Prody was reprimanded by police in 2004 for using Simpson’s disabled parking permit to park in a handicapped spot at Target.
  • Police recovered a stolen 30-foot motorboat - without its engines - from Simpson’s property in 2003. It appeared Simpson had no involvement.
  • Federal agents raided Simpson’s home in 2001 as part of an international drug investigation. Simpson wasn’t charged in the Ecstasy ring.
  • Christie Prody was busted for marijuana possession in Southwest Miami in 2006. She paid a fine for the misdemeanor drug charge.
  • Prody was also fined by the city of Miami in 2002, pleading no contest to animal cruelty after her cat was found dead from abandonment.
  • Just last year, the Juice allegedly threatened to kill a local handyman who he hired to do some repairs, then accused of sleeping with Prody.

Is Katie Milligan Standing By Rugby Player Greg Bird Because Of Money?

Update to Greg Bird Glassing Charge

It was just over a week ago that Katie Milligan was admitted to hospital after being assaulted by her boyfriend National Rugby League player Greg Bird. It wasn’t the first time Bird had assaulted a woman while he was in a drunken state and it certainly won’t be the last time.

Upon her release from hospital, Milligan returned to the love nest she shared with Bird and removed her belongings.

Before anybody says “smart girl”, save your breathe because she has told the media that she intends to stand by her man that the police have got it all wrong. I bet they got it all wrong when he assaulted a woman in nightclub last January too, and when he was handcuffed outside a nightclub a couple of months ago.

Obviously, the glassing incident has caused some yet to be diagnosed brain damage.

Milligan has yet to give police a statement about the incident that almost cost her the loss of sight in one eye, but should she meet with police I’m sure she’ll tell them that it was an accident, that Bird became angry at somebody or something other than her and that in his drunken frustration he threw a glass at the wall or door, it shattered and a large piece of it hit her in the eye, that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s all she has to say to get the love of her life off the hook. I won’t surprised if it plays out that way, but what she going to say the next time, and believe me, given the volatile, woman-hating man Bird is when he is drunk, Milligan will be assaulted again, only the next time she may not be so lucky.

As far as I’m concerned Katie Milligan strikes me as the type of woman who would lie for the sake of money, and if lying about the events that occurred in Bird’s apartment a week ago this past Saturday is going to get her cashed up, then that’s what she is going to do.

If Bird did ask Milligan to lie for him (and I wouldn’t put it past him to do such a thing), I wonder how much she offered him, and if Milligan’s father had a hand in any financial agreement that Milligan and Bird may have struck to maintain her silence or lie about the incident.

I hear a day after she was admitted to hospital she was paid a visit by somebody who just happened to be connected to a law firm that happened to be connected to the management company that handles Bird’s affairs. Think they talked about money, that somebody presented her with a financial proposal that would help her get over her injury and put the incident behind her? I definitely do.

If I were her father, I’d be dragging her ass back to America today and with a hefty cheque in hand.

Who has more balls, the LPGA or the NFL commissioner?

Fore-Get About It, There’s Nothing Wrong With The LPGA Expecting International Players To Learn English-Players Making A Mountain Out Of A Mole Hill

A few feathers have been ruffled with the LPGA’s announcement that foreign players will have to learn enough English to interact with journalists, other players, and their sponsors, and to be honest I don’t see what the big deal is when learning English is beneficial to players who otherwise can’t be bothered.

It’s a bullshit argument being made by players who if the truth were told are just blowing smoke out of their ass for the sake of argument. There is nothing wrong with expecting players to learn a language that is dominant on the LPGA tour, and for anybody to suggest that players who spend a tremendous amount of time in English speaking countries due to their career demands shouldn’t have some grasp of the English language is absurd.

Think about it, when a major corporation in an English speaking country hires somebody from a foreign country to work for them, that person is required to be able to speak English, otherwise that person is of no benefit to the company. Of course some will make the argument that the LPGA isn’t a corporate entity, that it’s a “professional sports organization”, but we all know that that argument is bullshit given the money-making machine it is, and the fact that they rely on corporate sponsors, most of which come from the U.S.

Maybe it’s just me, and maybe my argument doesn’t make sense, but if you are going to work, play and make your home in an English speaking country, the least one can do is learn to speak the language instead of relying on interpreters who don’t always get the translation right.

All I have left to say to the naysayers is, “Get over it and play golf.”

NFL Commissioner Shows Once Again That He Has No Balls

Seventeen months ago, the NFL suspended Adam “Pacman” Jones after he accumulated a number of arrests and legal probems that as far as a lot NFL fans are concerned, brought the league into disrepute.

Jones isn’t the only NFL player to do that, in fact that are quite a number of NFL players who time and time again are arrested and charged with criminal offences, and like Jones almost all of them are (it’s a rare occasion when the NFL kicks anybody out of the league for their off field behaviour) re-instated after serving suspensions, and then some of those players go on to commit further criminal offences.

Jones, now that he has been re-instated, says he’ll “try” to change his ways so that he can stay in the league. Try? What does mean by that, is he saying that he’ll make an effort to avoid his criminal behaviour when he should be saying, “It won’t happen again?” It sounds to me like Jones isn’t willing to commit to staying out of trouble, that he doesn’t think he can.

The NFL should have never re-instated him, especially since he has been arrested six times and has been involved in a dozen incidents that required police to arrive on the scene since; the Tennessee Titans first drafted him only three years ago. F**k man, he was even connected to a shooting in Las Vegas. What more does the NFL commissioner need to keep this arrogant, anti-social football player out of the NFL for good? It makes no sense and shows just how spineless the NFL commissioner is when it comes to players who don’t want to conform to societal values and morals. Guys like Pacman are a black mark on the NFL and until the commission grows big enough balls or is replaced by somebody with bigger balls, anti-social players like Pacman will continue to bring the game into disrepute, if only because they know that the worst that is likely going to happen to them is a suspension, which by the way they can afford to serve given the amount of money they are paid to play the game.

Suspension and fines mean shit to players who are making millions of dollars a season.

Mark my words, Pacman Jones will be arrested and charged again because that’s just the kind of guy he is, and when that happens the NFL commissioner is going to look like a fool.

These days, if an NFL player doesn’t kill somebody or his or her dog, they’re good to go in the NFL. What a f**king joke that standard is!
