Athletes are sometimes vain, narcissistic, definitely have a high opinion of themselves, usually arrogant, and in the twilight of their careers they make stupid calls, often embarrassing themselves and others when things don’t go according to [their] plan.
The way I see it, if a hockey, football, baseball, tennis, or soccer (really, just pick a sport) player can no longer cut the mustard because their talent and skill is diminished through injury and/or age, and it is obvious to the professional athlete, never mind sports fans like myself, than he or she should just suck it up and exit gracefully instead of not admitting that they are just not good enough anymore.
Why stick around and embarrass oneself when one no longer has the right stuff to play at an elite level? There’s nothing like exiting a career gracefully rather than being embarrassed out of [that] career.
Tennis pro Lleyton Hewitt should be asking himself that question instead of living in the lalaland that makes him think he can still compete at an elite level.
Not even thirty years of age yet, and as far as his tennis career goes, it has all but bottomed out, whether he is ranked inside the top 100 or not. Injuries have taken their toll on Hewitt during the past couple of years, and a result of the those injuries he is no longer able to compete with his peers at the best of times, but don’t tell him that.
Not that Hewitt was as good a tennis player as he was hyped to be to begin with, but for 75 weeks beginning in November 2001, he was ranked number one at just 20 years of age, and expectations were high for him. Of course he hasn’t lived up to those expectations in my opinion.
He has been able to play some good tennis over the years, but 8 years after being number one he is ranked no higher than 59, and I’m of the opinion that he’ll be lucky if he manages to make it in the top 30 in what is left of his career. Honesty, I don’t see him breaking into the top 50 now that he has recovered from hip surgery. I definitely don’t see any more championships in his future either.
Other than the early part of his career, the guy really hasn’t amounted to too much. Sure he has been a part of or has Australia’s Davis Cup team, who last won that championship 5 years ago, and while he is still a member of the team, the way it is looking for Australia’s Davis Cup team these days, they are a long way from bringing home another championship.
Thinking about it, Hewitt hasn’t been able to accomplish much since Australia’s last Davis Cup championship. That’s 5 long years of nothing for Hewitt.
In the past 5 years Hewitt has managed to win 9 tournaments, none of which were Grand Slam events, the last one being in Las Vegas 2 years ago. He has managed to win a fair amount of cash during those 5 years, but since 2006 his earning capacity on hard, clay and grass courts has diminished, and I really doubt future tournament winnings are going to amount to too much.
I really don’t see why Hewitt feels he needs to stay in the game anymore, he has nothing more to prove, and realistically speaking he has nothing more to gain.
He just doesn’t have [it] in him anymore and he is to self-absorbed and high on himself to admit that.
He should seriously consider packing away his tennis gear for good and choose another career path because the longer he stays in tennis in the form that he is, the more embarrassing it is going to be for him when he is FORCED to retire by some of the younger guns coming up through the ranks. Like I said, injury and age have taken it’s toll on Hewitt.
The way DSOS sees it, right now and the way it has been for the past couple of years (Las Vegas win in 2006 being the exception) Hewitt doesn’t have what it takes to continue competing with the best of the best coming up through the ATP, and those at the top.
It’s too bad Hewitt is too vain to see that for himself.
And what about his coach Tony Roche, if he was any kind of a friend to Hewitt, he would take Hewitt aside and talk some sense into him instead of living vicariously through Hewitt. Roche himself knows that Hewitt can no longer compete at the level that saw him win one U.S Open and Wimbledon Championship, and he certainly knows that he is no longer capable of competing at a level that will allow him to maintain a top 50 ranking, never mind top 10 one.
Roche knows that after 10 years on the pro circuit Hewitt doesn’t have what it is going to take to take on and defeat the cream of the crop anymore and the only reason Roche isn’t doing anything to help Hewitt see the light is because he needs the pay check. He doesn’t care one way or the other if Hewitt is embarrassed out of the sport or exits gracefully just as long as Hewitt continues to pay him for his coaching services, which when it comes right down to his coaching, amounts to very little.
Hewitt needs to get out of the game, and he knows that, but his pride is getting in the way.
Sphere: Related ContentThe things some violent professional athletes (especially the young, dumb and full of cum ones) will do to avoid having to obey a restraining order.
If Kate Middleton is a smart girl (and DSOS knows she isn’t) she will barricade the doors at her parent’s place in New York, and perhaps even consider hiring a couple of armed bodyguards, because the man accused of glassing her in his apartment after he flew into a jealous rage is about to show up on her doorstep under the guise that the loves her so much that he will do anything to be with her, including breaking the law.
You heard it heard folks, Australian rugby player Greg Bird, the man who loves to terrorize women in Australia after downing a few beers has flown out of Australia so that he can get drunk with a woman too stupid to know that he is a danger to her.
That’s right, the man who glassed her, assaulted another woman in a nightclub this past January, and recently hijacked a ride to a pizza place, scaring the shit out of another woman when he jumped into her car and demanded she drive him to a pizza parlour, has boarded a plane to New York City where he will undoubtedly terrorize other women, never mind Middleton when it suits him.
Like DSOS has implied many times before in this blog, Greg Bird is a danger to women around the world, and the fact that he has been investigated for assaulting women on more than one occasion backs up my claim.
Bird, who fled Australia to skirt the conditions of an Apprehended Violence Order (restraining order) placed against him couldn’t get within 200 meters of his girlfriend Kate while she was in Australia attending university, left Australia to hook up with his victim after she returned to the U.S. four weeks ago.
While the restraining order only applies to him in New South Wales, and therefore is not enforceable in the U.S., he is in violation of the restraining order and when he returns to Australia (and he will because he has a date with a judge in November), he will be arrested. And why shouldn’t he be after all he is violating a court order.
I hope for Middleton’s sake nothing happens to her while he is New York, but knowing what DSOS knows about Bird, I have my doubts he will be on his best behaviour and I fully expect him to assault somebody there if not his love interest. The guy has a propensity for violence against women, and whether he is New York, Las Vegas or Cronulla, the level of violence he is capable of towards women is not lessened by the fact that he is waiting to face justice for throwing a glass at his girlfriend, or the charge he is facing for assaulting a woman last January.
Ladies of New York beware, there is a man walking the city streets that with a flick of switch can turn your face into hamburger and he won’t think twice about doing it, especially if he is under the influence of alcohol.

Glass Throwing Rugby Player Facing New Charges
Sphere: Related Content3 Broncos Force Drunk Woman into Performing Fellatio in Nightclub Washroom-’Claim it was consensual’
Football players are known for not being able to hold their liquor more often than not, but a few weeks ago DSOS wrote that 3 rugby players were being investigated for allegedly holding their licker by her ears in a nightclub washroom and forcing her to suck a little dick, and that they might have even tried to record the forcible oral sex scene .
Since I last wrote about it there have been some new developments in the case.
By the way all you NFL fans that actually might read some of the shit DSOS writes, I am not talking about Jay Cutler and the Denver Broncos, I am talking about the Brisbane Broncos of the National Rugby League in Australia. Yes that’s right, there are some more muscle heads from the NRL who are making headlines for all the wrong reasons, and as usual it involves alcohol and a woman who is either too drunk to know better, too drunk to defend herself, and/or too drunk to just not care whether or not she becomes a rugby team’s exercise bike.
The three latest rugby players to tarnish the professional rugby player’s image are Karmichael Hunt, Sam Thaiday, and Darius Boyd, three men with a combined weight of more than 600 lbs. Their victim wouldn’t have weighed much more than 120lbs, maybe a 130lbs herself though I can’t say for sure, but a drunk woman regardless of her size would have been no match for three hulking drunk men looking for a hummer from a woman who herself probably only had one thing on her mind prior to being forced to give head in the women’s washroom. Yep, the victim would have had sex on her mind on that Saturday night; in fact most rugby groupies do on Friday and Saturday night during “footy season.”
Australian women, those that have the looks and the body anyway, love trolling the nightclubs for professional rugby players whether its for casual sex or something more permanent like a “meal ticket,” and when they have a little too much to drink they get themselves into trouble like the woman that was forced to give Hunt, Thaiday and Boyd a blow job in the women’s washroom in a Fortitude Valley nightclub a few weeks ago.
A lot has happened in the four weeks or so since this story first broke, but the men are still being investigated, there are now allegations of drugs being involved, the three muscle heads are claiming that the drunken woman consented to giving them blow jobs, and that there isn’t any videotaped footage of them being on the receiving end of a hummer by a drunken and very stupid woman. DSOS has also learned that there were up to 8 Bronco players partying in the Fortitude Valley nightclub on that night, and that it is quite possible more women might come forward with other allegations involving the eight players.
The Brisbane Broncos are currently conducting their own investigation, but to what end who knows as the three men accused of the sexual assault are believed to be leaving team after this season ends anyway.
In what could be considered a related story I suppose, Australian research has revealed that women accusing high-profile rugby players of sexual misconduct are throwing themselves at professional rugby player’s feet in nightclubs. What I want to know is though is if the people who conducted that research are sure about that, I mean think about it for a moment the “groupies” they are referring to could merely be falling down drunk at their feet and that the players seeing an opportunity to score off the rugby field, take advantage of said drunken “groupie” knowing full well that that groupie wouldn’t have any credibility with police given their drunken state of mind should the object of the rugby player’s carnal desire decide to accuse him of sexual assault.
I don’t know about the research that was conducted by Deaking University, but blaming a drunken woman for putting herself in a predicament where she could be sexually assaulted by a professional athlete who must abide by a team code of conduct and should know better when it comes to drunken groupies falling at his feet is a bit of stretch.
Dr. Kim Toffoletti, who co-authored Rogue Men and Predatory Women is suggesting that in most cases where high-profile professional rugby players are accused of sexual misconduct, it is the accuser’s fault, and her source for that information is rugby supporters who are also saying that women wanted to sleep with well-known rugby players to build their own reputations, and for bragging rights that they scored with rugby players.
Hmm…No mention in the article I read about the research that alcohol played a factor in the woman’s promiscuity and risk-taking sexcapade however. Like it or not, a drunken woman cannot not be held responsible for another person’s actions, especially when it comes to allegations of sexual assault by rugby players like Hunt, Thaiday and Boyd.
Those three men knew better then to put themselves into a position where they could be accused of sexual assault in the first place. It is pounded into their head time and time again by team officials, and there is no excuse for their stupidity for putting themselves in such a position in the first place.
By the way, I think they are guilty of the sex crime they are accused of, but at the end of the day it is one drunken woman’s word against theirs, and the three muscle heads are likely going skate on the sexual assault charges.
One other thing, don’t rugby players care whether or not they end up with “sloppy seconds” and don’t they think gangbanging a drunken woman in a washroom is little more than unsanitary, that it is a far cry from practising safe-sex?
If they are guilty of the crime they are accused of I hope their dicks fall off.
Sphere: Related ContentThe race to be baseball’s best is well and truly on, and over the next few weeks baseball fans are going to be gorged with some really good baseball, but at the end of the day, and probably in Anaheim’s case if they go down to the defending World Series champs, the mistakes that some players are going to make are going to cost them games if not this first round of the playoffs.
Today I had the pleasure of watching the once cursed Red Sox take it to the Anaheim Angels, and unlike the regular season where the Angels won eight of nine against the Red Sox, they went down 4-1 because they couldn’t rally enough offense against the hot pitching of Jon Lester who went seven innings while only giving up one run. Boston had things going their way from the sixth inning on while Anaheim lost their 11 straight to the Red Sox in post season play, that despite the opinion of baseball experts that the Angels were the best team in baseball.
They certainly didn’t look like the best team today, and if they continue to play like they did today they’ll be gone as faster than Vladimir Guerrero can run from first to third with one out. Boy did Guerrero make a glaring mistake today and as far as DSOS is concerned if it wasn’t for him attempting to gain third base (he was the tying run by the way) from first base on a hit that barely made it past first base, the game result could have weighed in the Angel’s favour.
Guerrero who isn’t blessed with much speed as a base runner (he carries a lot of weight), thought he could round second and make it to third before the 2007 Gold Glove winner could throw the ball to third, and he ignored the second base coach who told him to hold up. What a selfish, and utterly stupid thing to do. He was tagged out a good twelve feet from third base, and more importantly he was the second out. It was that moment that took the wind out of Anaheim’s sails as far as DSOS is concerned, and Anaheim fans began heading for the exits.
Guerrero would not make another appearance at the plate. Such is the life of a Designated Hitter.
Guerrero should be taken out of the line-up until he loses some weight, and/or learns to follow instructions from the base coaches as far as DSOS is concerned, but the Angels need his bat and that isn’t going to happen.
They can take keep him out of right field though, which is what the Angels did in game one, but he is a power hitter and the last thing the Angels want is for them not to be able to call on his power hitting late in the game with the go ahead run in scoring position. He’ll be in the line-up on Friday, and maybe then he can redeem himself.
Man he was slow rounding second. Whatever gave him the idea that he could outrun the throwing arm of first baseman Youkilis anyway?
Even the fastest of base runners would have known better than to try and outrun a Youkilis throw to third base.
Game 2 should be a better game for the Angels behind All Star pitcher Erbin Santana, but at the end of the day all the good pitching in the world isn’t going to matter if players aren’t going to do as they are told, or if the Angels can’t drive in base runners.
Can Anaheim fans say “sweep” for the second year in a row?
By the way, GO PHILLIES!
DSOS has learned that Kate Middleton’s boyfriend, the clown that sent her to hospital after throwing a hissy fit and glass at her, is facing new charges of public mischief and false accusation. Things just keep getting worse for Greg Bird don’t they?
The 24-year-old volatile and heavy drinking professional rugby player will appear in an Australian court on October 9 after he threw a glass at his American girlfriend (Middleton) in what many are describing as a drunken jealous rage after his girlfriend did not return to his apartment with him after a night of drinking at a pub with friends the Friday evening before. According to Middleton she stayed with friends rather than going home with her boyfriend.
They must have had one helluva an argument if she didn’t go home with him-eh? Excessive alcohol can do that to a binge drinking couple.
The glass throwing incident occurred at 730am the next morning when Milligan finally showed up at Bird’s apartment. The ensuing argument resulted in Bird throwing a glass in which shards entered Milligan’s eye. She would later require surgery.
Initially Bird claimed that it was his roommate, golfer Brent Watson who assaulted Milligan, and he even tried to convince his girlfriend to back up that story, not to mention he called his roommate in the hope he could get him to corroborate the story Bird was telling police. Bird’s story soon fell apart however when police learned that Watson was away at the time of the assault. What a f**ked up thing to do to a friend, never mind a roommate.
Milligan continues to stand by her man, saying that he would never hurt her, but the fact that Bird has been issued a summons to attend court over another alleged assault involving a woman at a nightclub in Cronulla last January 19 suggest that Bird would in fact intentionally hurt a woman, never mind his “dumber than a bag of hammers” girlfriend.
Bird has been suspended by his professional rugby league club the “Cronulla Sharks” and he will not be re-instated until he tells club officials what happened at his unit on the morning the American law student was taken to hospital. He has repeatedly refused to comply with the team’s request. I guess he doesn’t have the balls to tell them any lies.
Milligan, who as I said is dumber than a bag of hammers for thinking her volatile boyfriend would never hurt her, failed in her bid to remove a restraining order that the police put in place to protect her. At least it can’t be said that Australian police aren’t looking out in her best interests. They obviously are compensating for Milligan’s stupidity in this matter.
Sphere: Related ContentThere was a time DSOS truly believed that Jacques Villeneuve, the son of deceased Formula One great Gilles Villeneuve would carry on where his father left off after his death during qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix on May 8, 1982. My expectations for Jacques were high, especially after taking Rookie of the Year honours in 1994 in the IndyCar championship series, winning four F1 races as a rookie in 1996, and then going on to win the F1 Championship in 1997 with 7 victories to his credit in only his second year of Formula run racing. Who could blame me for having high expectations for somebody who in three short years of professional racing in two different classes was on top of the racing world because his skills and daredevil talent?
Sadly for Villeneuve 1998 would be the beginning of the end for him as far as professional racing goes, and 10 years later, his racing career is all but finished. He has nobody to blame but himself, what with his arrogance and the life-in-the-fast-lane-lifestyle he has led since he won the Formula 1 championship.
Would you believe the man I now consider a chump and wannabe on the racing circuit even had the balls to try his hand in the music industry, releasing an album February 2007 that as of December 31 last year had only sold 836 CDs in North America. I’m thinking that Villeneuve might have bought most of those 836 albums himself.
Fourteen years after entering professional racing Villeneuve’s career has all but been flushed into the St. Lawrence River, but don’t try telling him that. He still thinks he has what it takes despite his poor performance in the NASCAR series, the latest stop in his racing career.
With a poor performance at the UAW-Ford 550 in 2007, failing to qualify for the 2008 Daytona 500,a and finishing 16th in the Nationwide race in Montreal, it has been a struggle for Villeneuve and sponsors have shown little interest in him and now he finds himself heading to South America to race in the Argentinean Touring Car series at the end of this month to get more stock car experience under his belt so that he might be able to attract enough attention from sponsors, which he desperately needs for a sponsorship package he is trying to put together so he can compete full time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series in 2009.
I wish him luck with that, but nah, I doubt going to South America is going to change his fortunes. His racing career is all but finished and unless by some miracle he returns to the driving and winning form he had on the IndyCar and Formula 1 circuit, South America could very well be the last stop in racing career. A poor showing in South America will definitely put the brakes on what I think has been a racing career that has relied more on luck and balls than it has on skill and talent.

Sphere: Related ContentI’m sure there are not too many die-hard soccer fans outside of Brazil, who have heard of second tier soccer player Thiago da Silva, but the 25-year-old was very familiar to Brazilian soccer fans and he was a member of Brazil’s bronze winning soccer team in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
His “star” was on the rise until September 18 when three hit men hired by his ex-girlfriend Alyne Padula Viana stormed on a soccer field during a practice session, handcuffed, beat, and tortured him. He was then shot 3 times when he tried to escape. Six days after the attack he died in a Rio de Janeiro hospital.
The Estacio de Sa soccer player was murdered for the lamest of reasons and as far as DSOS is concerned Alyne Viana and her aunt should suffer the same fate, though they should suffer excruciating pain before putting a bullet between their eyes.
Alyne Viana and her aunt have been taken into custody, accused of hiring the assassins that killed da Silva after he ended his relationship with a woman who can only be described now as a murderous gold-digging bitch who had it not been da Silva, she would have surely killed somebody else.
Before he died da Silva was able to tell police that he met his fate after he fell into a trap after meeting with his girlfriend to discuss the break-up. He was also able to describe is attackers.
One of the assassins is a member of the military police, and he too should have a date with the Grim Reaper, or at the very least be thrown into the general population of a Brazilian prison where inmates will undoubtedly take great pleasure in torturing and murdering a government thug.
This is not a crime of passion. It is a cold and calculating murder planned and carried out for revenge, and of all the co-conspirators involved in the heinous and brutal crime Alyne Viana should suffer the most. There is no amount of torture that the despicable woman shouldn’t have to endure, and I hope when the time comes she suffers the most painful of deaths. It’s the least she deserves.
Sphere: Related ContentIt didn’t take long for National Rugby League’s “public enemy #1″ to have a change of heart over in Toulon, France about his fortunes, and now he wants to return to the Canterbury Bulldogs, the NRL team he deserted under cover of darkness because he thought the grass was greener over in Europe. Who would have thought?
There are rumours flying around that Sonny Boy Williams, who turned his back on his team mates and walked out on them about have way through the NRL season is homesick, and that he doesn’t like the president of the Toulon rugby team is treating him. Funny, he felt the same way about the Bulldog management when he decided to pack his bags and head overseas, breaking a five-year contract that was worth a couple of million dollars, not to mention his endorsement deals.
He was a fool for deserting his team mates and skipping out on his contract, but he was a fool being led around on a leash by champion boxer Anthony Mundine, a man that has about as much honour and respect for people as I have love for Osama bin Laden.
Unfortunately for Sonny Boy, the Bulldogs and the NRL have closed the door shut on the muscle headed moron, and there is little chance of him being welcomed back into the Bulldog fold, or the NRL for that matter for at least 5-years.
It really sucks to be Sonny Boy Williams and rugby fans across Australia have little sympathy for him now.
Then there’s the three-quarter of million dollars Mundine paid to the Bulldogs for them to lift the court order that prevented Williams from playing rugby anywhere else but in New Zealand. Sonny Boy has to pay that back too.
It will be interesting to see what Sonny Boy’s next move is after he recovers from yet another injury. Will he stay in Toulon, or will he walk out on the two-year contract he signed there?
SBW, you’re a fool, an extremely immature and dishonourable one at that.

If anybody is thinking that New York Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez reached an amicable agreement with his wife Cynthia to spare his children from messy divorce proceedings because of his numerous infidelities, pull your head out of your ass right now because the only reason he did it was to save himself the embarrassment and shame of having to name other high profile women he has hit home runs with in the divorce proceedings.
For once when he was thinking with the head on his shoulders instead of the one dangling at the end of that teeny, weenie bat dangling between his thighs, and he did the right thing by agreeing to his ex-wife’s divorce terms, but don’t anybody think he did it out of respect for his children and his wife or to spare them emotional trauma. He did it to save his own sorry ass.
Cynthia may have been doing what is in the best interests of their two children, but not A-Rod. All he wanted was to make sure that he could screw Cynthia out of as much money as her and children rightfully deserved, but that plan went foul when his scorned wife demanded more than what was agreed to in the prenup she signed a month before they were married in 2002.
While terms of the divorce settlement weren’t released it is believed that Cynthia received a $12 million mansion, and enough spousal and child support to keep her and the two children living in the luxury they have become accustomed to for a long time to come. There are also rumours that Cynthia may have received a one-third share of what A-Rod earned during their marriage, and that she may have threatened to reveal all about their 6-year marriage and A-Rod’s secrets if she didn’t get what she wanted out of A-Rod. The divorce settlement isn’t as amicable as the New York Daily News is reporting by any stretch of the imagination, and contrary to what their PR reps and attorneys are saying, things could get a whole lot uglier between the two, divorce settlement or not.
The funniest thing I have heard about this divorce so far is that A-Rod has chastised Cynthia for mentioning “immaterial and impertinent” issues like his alleged “extra marital affairs and other marital misconduct.”
Earth to A-Rod, it was those extramarital affairs and marital misconduct that caused your marriage to fail you stupid moron.
He’s lucky that Florida is a no-fault state for divorce cases, but at the end of the day that means nothing when it comes to the leverage Cynthia has when it comes to getting what she wants out of the infidel and arrogant prick.
I expect that Cynthia will have quite a story to sell one day and that she might have even used the threat of selling that story to pressure A-Rod into giving her what she wanted from him.
Of course I could be very, very wrong about how this divorce settlement was reached, but I doubt it, especially when everybody and their dog were expecting it to be a messy and expensive divorce for A-Rod in the first place.
Truth be told, I think Cynthia played dirty and won. I also think that there’s still time for this divorce to get really ugly before it runs it course.

Sphere: Related ContentBefore I sound off on Katie Milligan let me make it perfectly clear that I do not think all American woman are as dumb as her, as the title might suggest. I know the list of dumb American woman is long, but to be fair I’m compelled to let DSOS readers know that not all American women are as dumb as Katie Milligan.
After reading today’s DSOS article most readers will agree with my assessment of Milligan, who is currently here in Australia studying to be a lawyer, a career path I hope doesn’t lead to her being an advocate for battered and abused woman across the US.
If you’re a regular reader of DSOS (if you’re not you should bookmark this page right now) you will already know how I feel about professional rugby league in The Land Down Under. For those of you who are visiting DSOS for the first time, the following paragraph is directed at you.
As I have stated in here before, pro rugby players are young (average age of league player-24) muscle heads who like to drink and fight when they are not playing “footy”, and abuse women. That type of behaviour is all too common among footy players during footy season, and as I have said before there isn’t a weekend of footy matches that doesn’t go by without a footy player either being involved in a bar fight, sexually assaulting a drunken and defenceless woman or smacking a woman around. Katie Milligan’s boyfriend Greg Bird is known for assaulting women, and the incident in August in which Milligan was glassed at an apartment with Bird aside, is currently being investigated for assaulting another woman long before he threw a glass in the general direction of Milligan, causing it to shatter against the wall after which a piece of that glass lodged just above Milligan’s left eye.
Last weekend three Brisbane Bronco players became part of an investigation where it is alleged that they sexually assaulted a woman in the washroom of a nightclub last Saturday night while celebrating a play-off game victory. The three players, while they are yet to be charged, entered the washroom with a woman where it is alleged she was all but forced to perform oral sex on them. Because alcohol was involved it is hard to get the truth out of anybody in this particularly story about rugby players, but Kate Milligan had one to tell in this weekends Daily Telegraph.
After reading the exclusive interview Milligan gave to The Daily Telegraph I would have to say that Milligan might not be “all there” so to speak, that she might have an undisclosed brain injury or perhaps even a neurological disorder that is preventing her from thinking rational or seeing the truth about her boyfriend; that he uses violence when it comes to the trust he thinks he should feel around women, especially girlfriends.
In the Daily Telegraph article Milligan tells of how Bird would never hurt her, that he loves her too much to do such a thing, and she even says she will not co-operate with police in their investigation, stating that she received legal advice not to. That legal advice came via Bird’s legal advisers by the way, and the only reason they have asked Milligan not to allow herself to be interviewed by the police is because Bird is being investigated for assaulting a woman in an unrelated incident that occurred this past January.
Yes it was quite an amusing interview Milligan gave to The Daily Telegraph, but I wouldn’t expect anything else from an “exclusive interview” that was given two pages and front page status.
Milligan, while not mentioning whether or not there was an argument between the couple (neighbours heard yelling and screaming at the time the alleged glassing has occurred) after she failed to return home with Bird after a Friday night at the pub (she apparently stayed with friends while Bird returned to the apartment alone), went out her way to tell readers how much in love she was with Bird, that he would never hurt her because he loved her too much, blah, blah, blah. Anybody reading the story would have thought the 24-year-old law student was dumb when it came to men and that she was lying to the journalist she was telling her story.
I think what happened is that Bird sat up all night drinking alone in his apartment while waiting for his girlfriend to come home and that as each hour passed he became more angry with her. I bet they exchanged a lot of text messages from the time they separated at the pub until he passed out drunk. By the time Milligan arrived at Bird’s apartment the next morning (around 730am) Bird’s jealousy and distrust of women took over and he hurled a glass in Milligan’s direction to show her how angry he was and to frighten her into submission. If it wasn’t for that act I would have nothing to say about Bird and Milligan today.
Since that morning Bird’s legal team has been busting their asses off trying to convince Milligan not to reveal the truth of that particular incident, and obviously it has worked out okay for them otherwise Milligan wouldn’t be telling the story she is telling now.
For Milligan it is all about the money, and the only reason in my opinion she is standing by her man is because she was either offered money to candy-coat her story to the media so as not to make things anymore worse than they already were for her boyfriend, and/or she is a gold-digger, though she has claimed that by the time of her arrival in Australia after meeting Bird in Las Vegas she didn’t know how famous of a footy player Bird was in Oz.
I have to laugh because I think the latter is bullshit because Milligan would have googled his name to check him out before making such a huge commitment to leave her family behind in the US for a man she barely knew to begin with. She googled his name, make no mistake about it and she knew a lot more about the man of her dreams before she even boarded a plane bound for Australia in the US. She knew he was a popular and well-known footy player with the Cronulla Sharks, and she knew about the investigation into an alleged assault of another woman that occurred in a nightclub.
She’s lying about what she says she knew and didn’t know about Bird before arriving in Australia to study law, and the only reason she is not co-operating with police in their investigation about her glassing is because if she would have to lie to investigators too.
It’s much easier for her to just lie to journalists, and get paid for it. If she was to lie to police on-the-record, and it was later discovered that she lied, she would find herself in some serious trouble and her law career would be flushed down the toilet. If she lies to the media, there’s nothing anybody can do about it, and that is exactly what she is doing in my opinion when it comes to the story she has told in The Daily Telegraph.
By the way, don’t think for one minute and despite what Milligan may say about it, that she wasn’t paid good money by The Daily Telegraph for her exclusive interview. Her boyfriend’s legal team would have ensured that she was paid top dollar for her exclusive interview.
One last thing, I don’t believe for one minute that her father supports her in her decision to back up a man who has a history, albeit a brief one (if only because it is a rare occasion he is caught), of assaulting women, and I think if it was daddy’s decision to make he would have hauled his daughter’s ass back to America after she was released from hospital. It would be interesting to here what her father has to say about Greg Bird and the incident that almost saw his daughter lose an eye, but I doubt this is much of a story in the US.
Maybe The Daily Telegraph can offer him some big bucks to tell his story to Australia, but only if he can be trusted to tell the truth unlike his daughter.
You know what they say, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” and I would be hardpressed to believe that daddy could tell the truth anymore than his daughter did.
The funniest thing she says in her interview is that she considers herself to be an intelligent person. Considering she’s standing by a young man with a drinking problem who is prone to abusing women whether it be verbally or physically, she obviously doesn’t have high standards when it comes to gauging her own level of intelligence.
She’s a stupid woman, and I hope for her sake Bird doesn’t lose it again on her because the next time she could lose an eye, or worse yet end up in hospital with life-threatening injuries or an a slab in the morgue.
